Pulaski Tech Theatre presents The Piano Lesson

Pulaski Technical College’s Theatre Department will present The Piano Lesson on April 26-28 at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, 501 W. 9th St., Little Rock.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, April 27, and Saturday, April 28. Admission is free, but tickets are required due to limited seating.

Tickets are available from the Division of Fine Arts and Humanities on the college’s Main campus in North Little Rock at 3000 West Scenic Drive. For more information, call the division office at (501) 812-2338.

Pulaski Technical College theatre instructor Sheila Glasscock will direct the play, written by August Wilson, who won the 1990 Pulitzer Prize.

Pulaski Tech to host Show & Shine

 Dozens of antique, classic and custom cars will be on display 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, during a Show & Shine at Pulaski Technical College’s Little Rock-South site, located at 13000 Interstate 30.

The event is free and open to the public.

Model car builders can compete in more than 50 categories, including aircraft, automotive, novice, military, spacecraft, dioramas, box stock and figures. Registration for competitors takes place from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. and costs $10 per car. Registration is free for student with a student ID. Prizes include dash plaques and trophies for the President’s Pick, Top 10 by Popular Vote and Long Distance.

The day-long event also includes the 5th annual Arkansas Model Championship. The first 75 children aged 6-13 will receive a free Revell model to make and take home. Children can also compete in the Kids Coloring contest.

Superstar Moms share secrets of raising successful sons

Pulaski Technical College will host “Superstar Mothers of Superstar Sons” on Thursday, April 19, featuring the mothers of five basketball star athletes who will share their stories about raising successful sons with a strong sense of values.

Their presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the RJ Wills Lecture Hall, located on the second floor of the Campus Center on the college’s main campus, 3000 West Scenic Drive, North Little Rock.

Guests include:

Bettye Williamson – Mother of retired NBA player Corliss Williamson, who played for the Arkansas Razorbacks and then played for four NBA teams, including the Detroit Pistons. He later coached at Arkansas Baptist College and is the current head coach at the University of Central Arkansas.

U.S. Pizza fundraiser for Our House Thursday night

U.S. Pizza Co. is donating 10% of all their food sales to Our House Thursday, March 29 (dinner only).

"Our House provides the working homeless – individuals and families – with shelter, housing, job training, education, free childcare and summer youth programs, in order to equip them with the skills to be successful in the workforce, the community and their own families."
